Trouble after love. The late Amanda Peterson had a less than glamorous Hollywood life following her starring role as popular high school student Cindy Mancini in the 1987 classic Can’t Buy Me Love.
On Thursday, July 9, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office in Greeley, Colo, confirmed to Us Weekly that Peterson was arrested in 2000, 2003, 2005, 2010, and 2012.
A source tells Us that Peterson’s most recent 2012 arrest was for DUI and possession of narcotics on May 3, 2012. She also spent three months behind bars from September to December in 2005.
In addition, the source says that she was put behind bars for third-degree assault in 2010 for fighting with a woman.
Peterson — who was found dead at age 43 in Colorado on July 5 — appears unrecognizable in her mugshots. She switched between blonde and brunette hair throughout the years, and appeared to have two black eyes in her 2003 photo.
Peterson’s cause of death is still undetermined, and autopsy results are pending. Her mother, Sylvia, opened up about her daughter’s passing earlier this week, noting that the actress previously struggled with depression and drugs and had sleep apnea.

“This was not, in any way, a drug thing,” Sylvia told Entertainment Tonight. “Amanda was in very good spirits.
She added to Us: “I just think she was a precious person and it’s a big loss. That’s all I can say.”
